About Me

mee

Here’s a giant picture of my face!

My name is Sara, and music is one of my biggest passions. Working around music has been a dream of mine since middle school, and now that I’m in college, I finally get to live it out. I currently hold the position of program director at Truman State University’s radio station, 88.7 the Edge, where I get to screen new music and decide what plays on the air and what doesn’t. In some ways, I suppose that sort of makes me a musical Judge Judy, but that’s beside the point — I get to spend my days surrounded by my passion, and I couldn’t be happier.

Coupled with my love of music is a love of all things entertainment. Movies, TV, books, video games, you name it — I’ve probably invested a decent amount of time in most areas. (This is a more impressive way of saying, “I enjoy spending my Friday nights with Netflix, Oreos, and popcorn.”) The five-dollar DVD and CD bins at Walmart reel me in every time, which is beginning to be more and more of a problem as I only have so much storage space… but I digress.

On top of all this, I also study journalism, which is a testament to my fondness of writing. I came to the realization pretty early that music journalism is my niche, and for the first time I get to exercise my skills with this blog. Excited is an understatement, here. I’m thrilled that I am getting the chance to merge two of my passions together and share my thoughts with the world. I can only hope that you share the tiniest portion of my excitement as my journey of blogging begins.

  1. Nice blog Sara! I bet you have a great time as PD at your college. That was my first radio gig as well. As you can tell with my blog I just don’t have a knack for it yet..may never. lol Anyway from an old radio guy good luck in broadcasting! “McKee”
